Better Late Than Never
I grew up making pictures, but it wasn't until I was in my mid-forties that I received a formal education in drawing and painting. I returned to school in 1995 and graduated with an M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in 2002. I also taught both introductory drawing and art history classes there for several years. I recently taught introductory design and art history as an adjunct faculty member at High Point University.
When I'm not working in my studio in Greensboro, North Carolina, I'm spending quality time with the critters at my friend's barn.
Formative - Informative
All these books are in my collection. The ones on the left are either from my childhood or belonged to my children, while the ones on the right I use regularly in my studio practice, but the two sides are not mutually exclusive.
